Eligibility & Qualifying Life Events

BENEFIT ELIGIBILITY

All full-time employees working 32 hours or more per week will be eligibile for benefits on the first day of the month following 60-days of employment. Family members including spouses or domestic partners and dependent child(ren) are also eligible for coverage.

Eligible Dependents include:

  • Legally married spouse​

  • Domestic Partner

  • Child up to the age of 26 including;

    • Natural or adopted Child

    • Step Child

    • Child that you are legal  guardian

    • Child  that  has  been  placed  with you for adoption

Once  you  have  made  your  elections, you will not be able to make any changes until the next annual open enrollment period, unless you experience a Qualifying  Life  Event (QLE) as defined  by  the IRS.  

QUALIFYING LIFE EVENT (QLE)

If you experience a Qualifying Life Event, you can make a change to your benefit that is consistent with the status change.  

Life Events include:

•  Marriage

•  Divorce / Legal separation

•  Birth / Adoption / Legal custody of a child

•  Death  of  a  spouse  or  dependent child

•  Employee  or  dependents  gain/loss of other coverage

•  A change in work status that causes you to gain or        lose eligibility.

You must contact Human Resources and submit the proper paperwork within 30 days of the event.
